ELC 2017: HHS CISO Chris Wlaschin Believes in Team-Based Approach to Cybersecurity

Given its unique nature as a federated agency with 11 operating divisions scattered across the country, managing the security strategy for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services is a task with serious complexity and challenges. Chris Wlaschin, the agency's CISO, is working closely with his agency' IT leadership to modernize the agency's infrastructure, move more IT to the cloud and double down on the security protocols that are demanded within the health industry. We spoke with him at the 2017 ACT-IAC Executive Leadership Conference to get his thoughts on the agency's strategic plan for IT and hear what he thinks other federal IT leaders should pay attention to.
